Frankfurt is reportedly asking for between 50 and 60 million euros ($54m-$65m) for star forward Omar Marmoush, who continues to be linked with a move to Liverpool.
German journalist Florian Plettenberg has delivered frequent updates on Marmoush in recent weeks and his latest claim is that Liverpool has already been in contact with the player's camp over a possible transfer to Anfield. Liverpool is described as a 'serious option' for Marmoush, who reportedly dreams of moving to the Premier League.
It is said that agreeing personal terms will not be an issue with the transfer fee between the two clubs seemingly the only obstacle to overcome.
Marmoush has started the season in excellent form, netting 10 goals and registering seven assists in 11 appearances in all competitions. The 25-year-old is the top scorer in the Bundesliga with nine goals – one more than Bayern Munich and England striker Harry Kane.
Sport Bild reported earlier this month that Marmoush, who is contracted to Frankfurt until 2027, is motivated by the possibility of playing alongside compatriot Mohamed Salah at Anfield, while another reason behind his desire to move to Liverpool is that he wants to play for a top Premier League club. Marmoush is said to have turned down approaches from Nottingham Forest and Fulham in the summer as he has set his sights higher.
Meanwhile, Liverpool is also being linked with a move for Napoli's Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with journalist Graeme Bailey saying the Reds are keeping tabs on the winger's contract situation in Italy.
Kvaratskhelia's current deal in Napoli still has plenty of time left to run on it, expiring in 2027, but talks are ongoing over a renewal. The Georgian is still on the same terms he signed upon joining Napoli in 2022, so it is logical that negotiations are under way for an improved deal that will reflect the 23-year-old's standing in the team.
“Kvaratskhelia, obviously Liverpool are one of the many clubs who are keeping close tabs on his contract talks,” Bailey told Rousing the Kop. “Obviously, he hasn’t signed yet, and he’s on a very small deal at the minute. Napoli are trying to get him to sign and put in a big release clause, which he currently doesn’t have. I think he would be something of a dream signing if Salah were to go.
“Liverpool have cemented those good Georgian links with the Mamardashvili deal and every big club in Europe is going to be in the mix if he does become available,” Bailey adds. “There are less than 10 teams who can afford him and Liverpool are one of them.”
